Epic Restoration Project Wins Coveted Award for Dragon2000 Customer
27th November 2017
November has been a successful month for many of our Dealer Management System and Car Dealer Website customers, with fourteen of them among the finalists, highly commended and winners at the recent Used Car Awards.
We were delighted to hear that another of our DragonDMS users, Shropshire-based Classic Motor Cars (CMC), have been awarded the 2017 Octane Awards Restoration of the Year accolade this month with an epic 6,725 hour restoration. The project was a 1954 Jaguar XK120 SE – the only Pininfarina bodied car in existence – which arrived incomplete and rotten at CMC in 2015.
The Octane Awards recognise the elite within the historic motoring world and the judging panel included industry experts and personalities such as Derek Bell (five-time Le Mans winner), Nick Mason of Pink Floyd fame, TV host, classic car enthusiast and collector Jay Leno, and the editors of Octane, Evo, Auto Express and Automobile Magazines.
Classic Motor Cars are also the only company to have won this award twice – having been awarded the honour in 2011 with a restoration of a Jaguar Lindner-Nocker Lightweight which was thought to be beyond repair.
Managing Director of Classic Motor Cars, Nigel Woodward, said: “CMC are tremendously grateful to the judging panel for their recognition of the skill and craftsmanship of our team of specialists who created this restoration. “We are also blown away to have won this award for the second time. It is a testament to the skills, dedication and attention to detail that we have in our business.”
Well done to all of the team at CMC!
