New Electric Vehicle Discount Available To Car Buyers
A new electric car grant scheme has been revealed today by the Government, with a discount of up to £3,750 enticing drivers to make the switch from diesel and petrol.
The £650 million grant will be available for eligible new electric vehicles that cost no more than £37,000 at the point of sale and car manufacturers are being invited to apply to be part of the scheme from tomorrow (16th July 2025), with the discounts set to end in 2029.
Stats within the Government’s press release suggest that EV ownership is becoming more affordable in the UK, with 33 new electric cars currently on sale for less than £30,000, while 40% of used EVs are being sold for less than £20,000.
