expence figures dont add up?

Hi there i am doing my v.a.t qaurter on free stockbook but ive printed off my used car expenses and its £142.12 more than in used car monthly sales reconditioning colum? surely these should be the same as the it looks like ive made £142.12 more profit than i have  in the profit colum ?
can anyone help ,ive gone through all figres with a fine tooth comb and can,t find anything ,the last quarter added up ok? Sad      forgot to say most of my cars are vat qualified(cant see that would make any difference though)

Hi,

The expenses report will show all costs dated between the date range specified whereas the sales report will show costs aginst cars whose sale date is during the date range specified.

This opens up 2 scenarios for the difference:
1) There is a cost against a car that is not sold.
2) There is a cost against a car where the cost date falls within your report range but the car sale date falls outside it.
