A couple of coments

I downloaded and tried out your free stock book last week and a couple of coments are :
1/ I would like to link cars to customers so you can select a customer and see the car or cars they own; I know you can see the customer linked to a car.
2/ Adding photos to cars took a while to sort out; I kept trying the "insert" and wondered what was going wrong until I tried the "geat another" link. I think this part of the system could do with a bit better layout.
3/
1 My Street
My Town
My County
UK1 2GB
See the tools menu to edit these details - What is this supposed to mean ? I just edited these details on the Logo editor page.
Could do with the back button saying save and back as I was worried that if I pressed back any changes would be lost.
There was everything I could need and a lot more besides, I like the option built in to backup the data as that can easily get forgotton. I havn't tried much more than adding a couple of cars and a customer yet.
Most of the software is self explanatory and works but I think some of the interface could be improved a bit.
Great piece of free software although I probably will not be using it as the first item I mentioned is important.
I also have loads of icons etc. on my desktop and the Dragon one has disapeared; how can I start the program from a link in the DragonSE folder ?

Hi Anthony,
Thanks for your comments.
With regards to point 1, in the full version of our car sales software you can view the history of a customer which shows all cars, services and parts they have purchased from you. Unfortunately this shows the invoices for these items and as invoicing is disabled within the stockbook - this feature also had to be disabled.
As for 2, adding photo's to parts has undergone a complete overhaul for the as yet unreleased v9 of our software and the new design should make it to the car sales side sometime in the future.
The details typed in point 3 appear on the order form and certain reports in the stockbook edition. In the full system it also appears on invoices although the logo editor software is not included in the full software. Instead we design an invoice header for you based on existing compliments slips or website design or even from scratch and unlike the stockbook, images can be included.
With regards to the interface, the parts department and tools have had a complete redesign in v9 in order to make them easier to use. These changes will eventually be made across all departments of the software but unfortunately they are unlikely to make it to the free stockbook due to the download size required for the database engine used in v8.5 and above of our software.
Thanks again for the comments. We are always pleased to hear comments on how we can improve our software.
With regards to your icon, there isn't a single file you can click on in the dragonse folder to launch the app. Your best bet is to drag the icon form the start menu into the folder. If it's also gone then probably reinstalling the software again (your data will be safe) and then moving the icon is the easiest way.

Thanks for the quick reply Andrew
I must be "on the ball" as everything I comented on seems to be in the process of being changed although not in the free stockbook version yet.
I was trying this software out for somebody at work and at the moment he can not afford to upgrade to the full version.
I still have to show him the software working and can discuss your replys with him then.
I am one of those people who try out loads of software etc. and my desktop and program list of files is disapearing off the screen and so I was unable to get the icon back ! I will do the reinstall and see what happens.

If you are familiar with creating windows shortcuts you can create your own if you don't want to reinstall the software. The shortcuts target should read:
C:\DragonSE\Office\msaccess.exe C:\DragonSE\Dragon2000.mde
